Programs

Established Programs:

Team sports coaching and fitness development.

Our coaches and teams train and participate in league games year-round, beginning in January. Support first goes towards providing a field for practice alongside important equipment. Then, the teams are able to be registered into a league to participate in matches and tournaments.

We aim to maintain continuity and engagement with athletes and their families to create the foundation for directing our future program and community development.

        Vulnerable child education sponsorship.

Many young children and youth in our community face barriers to education. We aim to stand in this gap to support them in paying school fees, resolving transportation, and supporting nutritional needs.

Education offers opportunities for children and families to step out of cycles of poverty. Learning happens when our needs are being met, and we are encouraged and celebrated; we support families in this mission.

Developing Programs/Projects:

Local Piggery Project

Our current venture is to secure the means for a piggery project. This requires a great deal of coordination and support to get it up and running. However, this project will allow for a baseline of sustainability for our sports teams and allow our focuses to move from maintenance to growth.

We are very excited to continue planning for this project, and we will keep you up to date on our progress!

Health Knowledge Program

Equipping women and mothers with essential health information to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

  • Safe Sex Education: workshops on responsible sexual health, contraception options, and consent
  • Abstinence Awareness: providing balanced information, including abstinence as a personal choice
  • Medical Treatments & Check-ups: linking mothers to Wakiso Health Centre for regular screenings, pre-natal care, and family health check-ups
  • Host monthly health talks led by nurses, midwives, and community health workers

Weekend Natural Skilling Program

Weekend sessions are designed to uncover and develop natural talents and practical skills that can generate income without requiring prior education.

  • Identify each mother's natural interests and aptitudes through intake conversations
  • Weekend workshops in areas such as crafts, cooking, gardening, and home-based trades
  • Peer-to-peer teaching: mothers with a skill teach others in their group
  • Link skilled mothers to community markets and local buyers
  • Document and profile mothers' products and skills to attract future orders and partnerships

Looking even further...
